Aitken jams- CT & LI

Most of the time when I take my camera places I end up taking photos on the car ride there and never riding. This is pretty much the case with these two Mike Aitken benefit jams. There was a huge turnout at the New Haven park in CT and Pat Nugent has 700-something photos on FuckBMX (that he didnt take because he was too drunk.) I dont know if there are more stories of the skatepark jam itself, or the drunk drive home (I am default D.D.). Overall, that jam raised around $5,500.

Greenport Skatepark is a free/ride at your own risk skatepark right off the Long Island Sound, in a field, that was 30 degrees at best, and the wind was 20+mph all day. All that aside, there was a great turnout. Highlights include Jesse, Maria, and Russ killing the mini ramp, 3,596 footjam tailwhip attempts, 15 landed, and George D constantly remind us all that it is cold out. George, did you hear JFK was assassinated?

Props to Kenny Hirsch and everyone from Long Island Bikes for setting up the event and for putting up the raffle prizes out of pocket, they weren’t donations they were off the shelf.

NOTE: the picture uploader doesn’t work or this would have been updated Saturday night, check back

i took a last minute ferry ride to connecticut for a few days (which is maybe even worse than new jersey) to be max and nicks personal photographer. we went to the new haven park 2 nights and went to the local trails and i did some raking and smoothing while nick and max rode in the dark and in the rain.  max lives in a box which also happens to be stuck under a rock, and moving to connecticut didnt seem to help him any. . .  but thanks to max for letting us stay and eat his food and let us play indoor frisbee, and thanks to kevin for showing us the trails.
